Urgent Appeal for Open Hands Mission Volunteers

OPEN HANDS MISSION — VOLUNTEERS NEED FOR JUNE 23, 2:00 PM TO 6:00 PM

Our church provides volunteers every 4th Saturday to cook, serve, and clean up at the Open Hands Mission soup kitchen in Claremont. This month, Saturday, June 23, we have none of our “regulars” able to serve, and need to reach out to the congregation for help. Please e-mail or call Rod Wendt (RodWendt@tds.net, 469-3190) if you can help! Rod leaves for Bolivia on June 20 so please let him know NOW!
We meet Doreen Needham or Priscilla Hull, the Open Hands Mission coordinators, at 2:00 PM and they have everything ready for us to get to work.  We cook and set up, serve at 4:00 PM, finish serving at 5:00 PM, clean up, and are gone no later than 6:00 PM.  It is fun, and we are meeting an important need. Children aged 12 or older can help with anything; younger children can do limited tasks but are not allowed in the kitchen (State laws).

Open Hands Mission is located at First Congregational Church, 72 Pleasant Street, Claremont (about 2 blocks from the rotary in the center of town).  Use the side entrance to the basement, across from the bank drive thru.

Thanks!
