Maundy Thursday—April 13th, 2017
Our formal observance of this sacred time in our Lenten Journey together will begin in the Church with a Candlelit Celebration of the Last Supper and a Service of Tenebrae at 7:00 PM.. Featuring our Choir and numerous readers from our midst, (please speak to John if you would like to read), this service, which ends in total darkness, combines re-enacting the final Passover Seder meal shared by Jesus with his followers, remembering the new commandment “to love one another” even in the face of rejection and desertion, being there at the cross, and entering into the tomb of death and abandonment, as we prepare once again for the new life and abundant joy of Easter morning. In recognition of the somber and meditative nature of recalling the final events leading up to and including the death of Jesus, and in an effort to facilitate attendance even by those with young children, we hope to have child care available for this special evening service. Please call the Church Office (469-3235) no later than Wednesday—April 12th, to let us know if childcare would be helpful to you.

Good Friday—April 14th, 2017
Our “Watch With Me” Vigil, which begins following our Tenebrae Service on Maundy Thursday, continues until 3:00 PM on Good Friday, traditionally thought to be the time when Jesus died. To help us prepare our hearts and spirits more fully for the resurrection proclamation that Life, not Death, was and always shall be God’s Good News for all of us, we are invited to sign up to spend an hour or more watching and waiting in the Church throughout that longest of nights and on through that gloomiest of days, remembering the words of the Psalmist that “weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes in the morning!”
Once again this year we are also invited to travel with our Co-Pastors over to Weston Priory to participate in their observance of Good Friday with a service beginning at 4:45 PM. We will gather here at our church at 3:00 PM so that we can car pool together, and then share a meal together following the Good Friday Liturgy.

Easter Sunday– April 16th, 2017
Easter Sunrise Communion Service—5:30 AM
Come join us as we greet Easter’s joyful dawn! We’ll meet at the church to assess where best to hold our outdoor service, depending upon the weather that morning.

Annual Easter Morning Breakfast—6:15 AM
“Come and Have Breakfast” says the risen Jesus when he encounters the discouraged disciples on the seashore shortly after that First Easter. And likewise are we invited by our Social Committee to share together in this first meal on Easter morn at our Parish House.

Easter JOY Extravaganza—10:00 AM
A glorious celebration of Resurrection Joy featuring songs and prayers, the Easter Story of God’s never-ending Love for every one of us, beautiful flowers, our Heavenly Easter Choir, hand bell ringing, trumpet, spine-tingling singing of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus,” and the blessing offered by the presence and loving response of each one of us. In recognition that we gather as a whole church family on this happy day, there be no Church School or Nursery care, but please know that babies, children, and folk of all ages are welcomed with open arms to share our Easter Joy with us! Please join us!!
